Andrea Polli's Particle Falls

Particle Falls in Detroit from Andrea Polli on Vimeo.

Particle Falls by Andrea Polli is a digital waterfall projected on the sides of buildings. The piece uses a nephelometer which shoots lasers through a sample of air to measure particulate matter. As the air quality gets worse, the visual effects on the waterfall get more intense.

You can see more in this additional video of people discussing the work.

Particle Falls was also written-up on Hyperallergic.
